Professional History Kim Wells Bertron has more than 25 years of experience in legislative and governmental relations. She currently manages the legislative programs for several corporate clients. Her background in state government, lobbying experience, and political activities provides her clients with a formidable advocate for the advancement of their interests. Immediately prior to forming her firm in 1995, Kim was a member of a Tallahassee governmental relations firm. In 1988, she served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Florida Department of Business Regulation, where she managed the legislative programs for all of the agency’s divisions, developed public policy programs, and initiated and directed all of the department’s lobbying efforts including exposure before the federal government in Washington, D.C. As Legislative Liaison for the Department of Professional Regulation in 1987, Kim was responsible for the development, promotion, and management of the department’s legislative program including the management of the legislative objectives for 39 professional boards throughout the Governor’s Office, the department, and the Legislature. In this capacity, she was thoroughly involved in state statutory and regulatory processes. During her tenure with the department, Kim’s Republican involvement intensified when the Republican National Committee selected her as a Team Leader during the 1988 Republican National Convention in New Orleans. She was selected as an At-Large Alternate Delegate during the 1992 Republican National Convention in Houston, Texas. She continues her high-profile presence within Republican Party activities. Kim’s relationship with the Florida Legislature began when she worked in the House of Representatives Clerk’s Office while attending undergraduate classes at Florida State University. By 1985, she became Legislative and Delegation Assistant to a senior House Republican Member. She is a graduate of Florida State University and an active participant in the Tallahassee community. Kim has held appointments on two state boards. In May 2000, she was appointed to Florida's Diabetes Advisory Council by Gov. Jeb Bush. In 2001, Gov.
